Daily Reflection: Wednesday, November 22

Wednesday, November 22, 2023 – 33rd Week in Ordinary Time https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/112223.cfm

This gospel might sound familiar. This is Luke’s version of the last Sunday’s gospel from Matthew. Luke uses coin instead of talents. This story is not about money. It is about what God has given us. Therefore, coins can represent all our God given gifts and talents we have. Hope and Joy does not come from the outside material world. Hope and Joy is within us. We find joy and hope when we imitate God’s generosity by to the best of our ability we share those gifts – to others out of love.

Discipleship is not just a comfortable holding on to the gifts that God has given us. It challenges us to action, to risk taking, to increasing the yield of the good works and sharing these with others, and to refraining from excuses for our failures.
