Daily Reflection: Thursday, November 23

Thursday, November 23, 2023 – 33rd Week in Ordinary Time

There are two set of readings for today.

https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/112323-thankgiving.cfm

No matter which readings that you chose to read. Today in our nation, is a day we give thanks for the harvest. Years ago, the harvest was important for how people would survive the winter and they would thank God for the gifts to help them though the upcoming season. Now it seems it is a day that starts the retails season. A season of sales and getting deals on things that our material society tells us we need to survive. Our faith tells us that each day is a gift from God and all that we have, and all who we are, are gifts from God. Today, write/pray a thank you note to God for all we have.

Happy Thanksgiving

Peace

Scott F. Brookbank, OFM
