Daily Reflection: Monday, July 17

Monday of the Fifteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Whoever receives you, receives me.    (Mt 10:40)

In the gospel of Matthew, Jesus speaks these words to the Twelve.  Could they not now be spoken to us, too?  I hardly dare to think that it might be true.  I am not up to it.  But, it has to be true that each of us disciples is a sacrament of Jesus.  How else will he come into the lives of those who need him?
