Daily Reflection: Wednesday, July 19

Wednesday of the Fifteenth Week in Ordinary Time

In the seminary, I was taught that revelation ended with the death of the last Apostle.  The Apostles were the ones personally taught by Jesus himself and commissioned by him personally to announce his Good News.  They had the last word.

But.  But God continues to disclose.  At the burning bush God said to Moses: I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob.  And Jesus said, I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have  hidden these these from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike.

Think how God continues to reveal his goodness to us so that we know him even without words to describe our knowing.
