Daily Reflection: Wednesday, August 2

Wednesday, August 2, 2023 – 17th Week in Ordinary Time https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/080223.cfm

Today’s response is from Psalm 99. The New American Bible entitles this psalm as The Holy King. There are two verses left out. “O mighty king, lover of justice, you alone have established fairness; you have created just rule in Jacob.” And “O Lord, our God, you answered them; you were a forgiving God, though you punished their offenses.” Justice. What is justice? Is my understanding of justice and fairness dealing with my own opinions, my wants, and what I get? What is the justice of God? God justice is based on love, love of others.
