In the reading from the Book of Exodus talks about how God was with the people on their journey to promise land. Moses erected a tent, a dwelling place for God, which housed the Ark of the Covenant. A cloud, which image for God, would settle upon the dwelling place. What a wonderful image, a visual reminder for the people of God is with them. What is a visual reminder for us that God is with us every day? For some it might be when they pass a place of worship. For others it might be a cross that hangs in the room. Have our symbols become so common a place that we forget what they represent?
