Tuesday, February 21

Today is Mardi Gras! There will be much partying and carrying on in various places. There are some very important sentences in today’s First Reading from the Book of Sirach. Listen: “Wait on God, with patience cling to him, forsake him not; thus you will be wise in all your ways…Trust God and God will help you, trust in him and he will direct your way…” The season of Lent which begins tomorrow is a good time to deepen this trust in God.
