Daily Reflection: Wednesday, February 22

Wednesday, February 22

It’s is Ash Wednesday. The Prophet Joel in today’s Frist Reading says: “…return to me with your whole heart…Rend your hearts…For gracious and merciful is he, slow to anger, rich in kindness and relenting in punishment.” We have 40 days to “return” and “rend our hearts” and to thank the Lord for believing in us and to deepen our belief in the One who has created us and who is with everyday. We may need to deepen our relationship with the Lord and not take God’s close presence to us for granted. Some things may even have to change. Some spring house cleaning can be helpful.
