Daily Reflection: Monday, May 20

Monday, May 20

Pope Francis instituted the Feast of Mary, Mother of the Church in 2018. It is to be celebrated the day after Pentecost, the celebration that marks the beginning of the church and it recognizes Mary as Mother of the Faithful. It honors her not only as Mother of Jesus, but as the first disciple and Mother of the People of God. The church’s mission is to embrace all people on the earth and so we recall that we are included in this large family as brothers and sisters with people of every nation and language and customs. Holy Mary, Mother of God and Mother of the Church, pray for us.

Fr. Andrew
