Daily Reflection: Wednesday, May 22

Tuesday, May 21

It always struck me as odd when I read the Gospel of Mark where it mentions the disciples arguing “who was the greatest.” This doesn’t seem appropriate for his disciples, yet we do have to remember that they had much to learn as well as changes in their thinking and the way that they were currently looking at issues. Jesus doesn’t hesitate to answer them by saying that “if anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all.” There were many changes that the disciples had to make when following Jesus. This is true for us also. What are some for you?

Fr. Andrew
