Daily Reflection: Thursday, October 13
Thursday of the Twenty-eighth Week in Ordinary Time
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens,
as he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world,
to be holy and without blemish before him. (Eph 1:3-4)
We were predestined for holiness. It is not a question of worthiness, only God’s will for us. God has equipped us with his blessing so that we can live up to our destiny. Unfortunately, we fail to live up to it. Why is that, I wonder. A failure of desire? God desires our holiness more than we do. Happily, God never gives up on us and will see that our destiny is fulfilled in the fullness of time.
