Daily Reflection: Tuesday, November 8

Tuesday of the Thirty-Second Week in Ordinary Time

so that the word of God may not be discredited.  (Titus 2:)

This reading from Titus (Titus 2:1-8, 1-14) is one of those when our 21st century ideology distracts us from St. Paul’s point.  (Husbands and wives)  Always, he is concerned that the word of God be proclaimed in a powerful way. He does not want anything to distract people from hearing it, such as the misbehavior of believers.

I have to examine my conscience to see if there is anything about my life that would cast doubt on the word of God.  And then, what should I do about it?
