Daily Reflection: Monday, November 14

Monday, November 14

“Lord, please let me see.”

The blind man in Luke’s gospel wanted Jesus to heal him of his blindness. Jesus rewards his faith with the gift of vision. We each are blind in some ways and need healing in order to be able to see. We may be blind to the needs of others; we may be blind to the beauty of creation; we may be blind to our own insensitivities. We may be blind to the sins of our society and our complicity in how they affect those who are living on the margins. We need the healing power of Jesus to be freed from our sinfulness. Our faith in God’s power will gift us with the vision that will enable us to bring about a better world.  Lord, please let me see!
