Letter from the Pastor
June 9, 2022

Well, it is that time. With the Festival of the Sea and the Car Raffle, we are in need of your help.

The 2022 Festival of the Sea will begin on Tuesday, August 9th, to Saturday, August 13th.

Can you see yourself behind a booth or selling zeppole?  Perhaps you are more comfortable selling raffle tickets or car raffle books.   Below is the list of what we need.

1)    Booth Workers: You will be the front people in our booths.  One requirement is you do need to smile!  We also ask that you be available from 6 PM to 10 PM.  If you are able to work the full shift it really helps us with scheduling.  If you cannot, we are able to offer two shifts for the evening.  Please keep in mind that we do have more people who want to work the early shift so if you can stay late or sign up for the second shift it would be greatly appreciated.

2)    Relief Workers: Depending on the need, you will be assigned to a variety of booths, food, games, or ticket sales, to allow other volunteers to take a break.  You will need to be available from 7:30 to 9:30 PM and, you guessed it, flexibility!

3)    Traffic Control: You know how crazy the parking lot gets.  We need folks to help make it less crazy!  We will need you to be here between 5:15 PM to 9:00 PM. [On Saturday we will need you to be here at 4:30 PM because of the Mass.]

4)    Food Booth Workers: Kind of goes without saying, we need you to help serve food!  Just like the booth workers, you will also need to know how to smile.  ;o)  We will need you to be available from 5:00 PM to 10 PM.

5)    Ticket Sales: We need folks to sell tickets for the regular 50/50, Progressive 50/50, Raffle Tickets, Food, and Rides.  What’s the festival without them!?

6)    Car Raffle Ticket Sales: We also need folks to sell our Car Raffle books.  If you have experience with a credit card machine that would be great, but not mandatory.

We extend the offer to volunteer to anyone and everyone who would like to help St. Francis.  You must, however, be 18 years or older to work the games and or wheel booth or sell tickets during the FOS.

We will be offering three orientation meetings for our volunteers. YOU ONLY NEED TO COME TO ONE!! Wednesday, August 3, at 10 AM or at 6 PM; or Monday, August 8, 2022, at 6:00 PM. All will be in the Brant Beach Church Hall! Please save the date!

If you, your friends or family are available to help us on any or all of these nights, please fill out the form found at the doors of the church and return it to us by July 31.  You can drop it in the collection basket, give it to an usher, bring it to the center or mail it to Amanda DeFusco at St. Francis Parish & Center, FOS.  4700 Long Beach Blvd., Brant Beach, NJ 08008

The FOS is a success only because of people like you who stepped up to help make it possible.

Thank you for all of your help and support!  I look forward to seeing you at the Festival!
