Some Thank Yous to Share

Fr. Francis Di Spigno, OFM,
Pastor

Can you smell the Murphy’s Oil Soap?  After the 9 AM Mass on Wednesday, our Martha Ministry took over the church and began cleaning.  The buckets came out, the spray bottles were at the ready, and the cleaning began.  Before the church is decorated for Christmas, we wanted to make sure it is clean and ready to go.

A Great Thank You to this week's cleaning team: Kelly Cariello, Pam Cariello, Robin Craig, Lorri D'Orsi, Joe D'Orsi, Marie Doyle, Stephanie Garofalo, Ellen Lang, Connie Laverty, Toby McCarthy, Linda Ryan, and Paula Weigl.  Thank you, all!!

Continuing with the theme of giving thanks, I sent a note of thanks on behalf of the parish to the Long Beach Township, Surf City, and Beach Haven Police Departments, the three towns where our parish is located.  In their own way, they all serve and help our parish throughout the year.  I specifically thanked the Long Beach Township police for their help with the Festival of Sea in the summer and during these dark days of winter for directing traffic after the 5 PM Mass on Saturday.  Anyone trying to make a left out of the parking lot knows what it would be like without their help.  The Long Beach Township Police continues to look out for us and make sure that our Parish and Center are safe for everyone to enjoy.

As I was writing these letters, I could not help but think of our Prison Ministry, where we reach out to our incarcerated brothers and sisters.  I suppose it is the realization that our parish community engages all sides of life.  Today’s first reading from the Prophet Isaiah reminds us that the day will come when the Lord will be in our midst, and we will all rejoice, sing joyfully, and be renewed in his love.  That is the hope for which we live when we will all be made one.

Until that day, we continue to be present to the world, sharing our faith and giving thanks to those who bless us

Peace and All Good.
