The Journey Begins 
Ashes will be distributed during all services and the Mass following the homily. 
All services will be held in St. Francis of Assisi Church in Brant Beach.
Services at 7:15am, Noon, & 5:30pm
Mass at 9:00am

   Lenten Regulations

  • Ash Wednesday is on February 22, 2023 and Good Friday is April 7, 2023

  • Everyone 14 years of age or older is bound to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, all the Fridays of Lent and Good Friday.

  • Everyone 18 or older, and under 59 years of age, is bound to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.

  • On Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, only one full meatless meal is allowed. Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one’s needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. 

  • When health or ability to work would be seriously affected, the law does not apply.

  • The obligation to observe the laws of fast and abstinence “substantially” or as a whole is a serious obligation.
