World Day of the Sick Anointing of the Sick

Saturday, February 11, 2023 is the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and we will once again join with the Church around the world and celebrate the World Day of the Sick. This special observance was instituted in 1992 by Pope John Paul II and is an opportunity for us to pray for and be present to the sick and their caregivers in our parish communities. We will anoint the sick during Mass. We will invite those who are ill in any way, infirm, aging or preparing for surgery to come forward to receive the anointing of the sick.
