Daily Reflection: Wednesday, August 16

Wednesday of the Nineteenth Week in Ordinary Time

If you brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone.  (Mt18:15)

To honestly address a problem face-to-face with a sibling (or friend or colleague) is very difficult, especially if there has not been a solid habit of honest, loving conversation.  It is easier and sadly enjoyable to steal some unearned virtue by talking behind someone’s back.  Worse, the sibling relationship is weakened.  Courage and love are needed.  God  is willing to help with those graces.
