Daily Reflection: Thursday, August 24

Thursday August 24

“There is no duplicity in him.” John 1:47

To be duplicitous is to be double – to say one thing and mean another. Nathanael was praised by Jesus as having no deceit in him – honest and forthright in who he was and who he appeared to be. We are invited to be like Nathanael, to speak with integrity especially in terms of our Christian values. We cannot say one thing and act differently. Do our lives outside of church reflect what we profess? Does our offering speak to our commitment to the parish and world community? Do our actions reflect the communion we experience at Liturgy? Is the parking lot an example of our concern for each other???
