Today’s psalm is psalm 51. The New American Bible entitles this psalm as The Miserere: Prayer of Repentance. This is a lament prayer for the removal of the personal and social disorders that sin has brought. We read “A clean heart create for me, O God, and a steadfast spirit renew within me.” So, what is a clean heart and what is a steadfast spirit? Do we know what we are asking for? Today reflect on what a clean heart and a steadfast spirit means for you.
