Daily Reflection: Saturday, March 2
Saturday, March 2
The Gospel of the Prodigal Son is today’s Gospel. There is much in this Gospel for our reflection. Many have titled it the Generous Father and others have focused on the other son, calling him self righteous. Whatever name you like, we have to marvel at the Father’s attitude and generosity and the Son’s conversion from being a “I want what I want when I want it” person to bring contrite and ashamed of what he did. The older Son is sad because while he seems to be faithful to his Father, he turns out to be unforgiving and holding a grudge. From time to time each of us may show something of each of these three people. The Psalms says: “the Lord is kind and merciful.” There are ways to show this daily.
