Daily Reflection: Wednesday, March 6

Wednesday of the Third Week of Lent

Take care and be earnestly on your guard not to forget the things which your own eyes have seen, nor let them slip from your memory as long as you live, but teach them to your children and to your children’s children.   (Dt 4:9)

Moses instructed the people to observe the ordinances of the the Covenant and told them to pass it on, to pass it on to their descendants, to us.  Now the responsibility to pass it on is ours.  God’s laws seem like restrictions, but they are really signs of our relationship with God.  When we pass on God’s commandments, we extend the invitation to live in God’s presence.
