Daily Reflection: Saturday, March 16

Saturday March 16

“No prophet arises from Galilee.” The Pharisees were unwilling to even listen to Jesus because he was from Galilee. Their judgment was false since he was born in Bethlehem and was of the family of David, as the Christ was supposed to be. They thought themselves better than the crowd who were impressed with the teachings of Jesus, and even put Nicodemus down for trying to look at the Law as a guide to their behavior. Their pride in their status kept them from being open and led to their condemnation of Jesus. Do we see ourselves as better than others based on status, education, or culture? We are all equal in the eyes of God and need to remember this in our relationships.
