Daily Reflection: Tuesday, March 29

Tuesday, March 29

The Gospel for today tells of the 5 porticoes at the Sheep Gate where there were many people suffering from various physical challenges. One man had been there for 38 years. You would think that he had given up hope of being cured by this time in his life, but he responds to Jesus that he has no one to take him to the pool to be cured when the water is stirred. Jesus sees his faith and tells him: “Rise…and walk.”   And…it happens.” Immediately, he rises…and walks- even after 38 years of sitting by the pool.  Isn’t this an amazing story about Jesus’ healing power and this man’s faith and courage. Lord, give us some of that faith and courage.

Fr. Andrew
