Daily Reflection: Thursday, March 31

Thursday, March 31

Does God get angry? It may seem so after reading day’s First Reading from the Book of Exodus. I think that God is disappointed with the chosen people because they have forgotten him and are worshipping a “molten calf.” In addition, they are listening to the Egyptians who are saying that it is God’s intention to lead them into the mountains and eliminate them. What changes all this is remembering the covenant God made with the chosen people, the covenant that is still valid and is still in force. “I will be your God and you will be my people.”
