Daily Reflection: Friday, June 25

Friday, June 25

Jesus was not afraid to deal with lepers, the outcast, those seemingly “unworthy”, sinners, the unclean, all of God’s people. The leper in today’s Gospel who approached Jesus had his leprosy cured “immediately.” A leper was a “no body.” He had no life, no future and no hope. “See how the Lord blesses those who fear him” says the Responsorial Psalm. In the Hebrew language, “fear “doesn’t mean to be afraid but to have a reverential respect for the other. This is how the leper approached Jesus.
