Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, Apostles

I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith.  (2Tim 4:7)

Timothy had Paul as his great mentor.  Now that Paul’s days are numbered, he comforts  Timothy.  Don’t worry about me, I will be fine.  On his deathbed Saint Francis spoke similarly to his friars, but was even more direct.  God taught me what was mine to do, may God teach you what is yours.
