In today’s reading from the Book of Exodus we read the call of Moses.  God speaks to Moses through the burning bush.  We read God say, “Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.” Do you believe that places are Holy and there are places that are holy ground? Do we see our churches as holy grounds and therefore we need to remove our sandals?  To remove our “sandals” calls for us to change our behavior in order to honor the Holiness. Churches are not just a place that we gather to socialize. It is also a place set aside for one to get in touch with God.
