Daily Reflection: Wednesday, July 3

Wednesday July 3

Today the Church celebrates the feast of the Apostle Thomas, often referred to as ‘Doubting Thomas’! The faith of Thomas earlier in the story has him willing to go forth with Jesus even to death! It seems he trusted Jesus more than he did the other witnesses to the resurrection. Not a bad thing, but it called him to deepen his trust and go beyond to accept what had been clearly visible to the others! “My Lord and my God” was Thomas’ declaration of faith and should be ours as we are faced with the wounds of Christ as seen in those suffering around our world.
