Daily Reflection: Thursday, May 5

Thursday of the Third Week of Easter

Jesus said to the crowds:
“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw them,
and I will raise them on the last day.
  (Jn 6:44)

Jesus did not have a messiah complex.  I am sure that he was not a preacher who was captivated by the sound of his own voice.  He received all who came to him, knowing that their faith was the work of the Father and not his own work.  Being drawn by the Father to the Son is an awesome mystery that we accept with humility modeled on the Son.
