The images of vine, branches, and fruit are used in today’s Gospel reading from John. Reflecting on these images, it reminds me that one cannot bear fruit on their own. Plants have a complex system, just like we are complex.  The source of this system is God.  It is God who is the vine grower, who gives life to the complicated system. Daily we think we are the source of our own lives. It is God who is our source. Today pray for the graces that we need to remember that God is the source of all.
