Daily Reflection: Monday, May 23

Monday, May 23

We have been hearing passages from the Acts of the Apostles at daily Mass. They are interesting because we hear of large numbers of converts and the enthusiasm and constant preaching of Paul and the apostles. Today we hear about Lydia whose heart had been “opened” by the Lord. She absorbed what Paul was saying and it moved her so much that she and her whole household were baptized. She then extended an invitation to Paul to “come and stay at (her) home.” This is how the early Christian community began to grow. “The Lord takes delight in his people.”
