Daily Reflection: Wednesday, June 8
Wednesday, June 8
The Book of Kings presents the prophet Elijah challenging the people who are serving false gods. He asks them to call on their gods and see if they respond. Nothing happens. The he turns to the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel and God comes in fire to consume their offerings. While this is a rather dramatic encounter, Elijah is trying to help the people see that there is one true God and that they have been wasting their time with their pagan practices. It is easy to go astray and be led in the wrong direction. Pray for those who need to see the Light who is Christ.
