Daily Reflection: Thursday, June 9
Thursday, June 9
Today’s Gospel shows Jesus teaching that there are new and better ways of dealing with certain things in life. He deals specifically with anger. We all have been angry and it can consume us and change us. It is not easy to move beyond this state. He speaks of trying to be reconciled with the one who has angered you. That’s good but not always possible. The lesson here is don’t let anger change you; it can and it will. It takes time to let go of it and letting go happens slowly, but you are getting rid of it bit by bit. Don’t stay focused on being angry. Try to move your focus to something else healthier and life giving. One of the prayers at Mass is: “May your healing work, O Lord, free us from doing evil and lead us to what is right.”
