Wednesday, December 21, 2022 – 4th Week of Advent

Our first reading is taken from the Song of Songs. This is a poetic form of the sublime portrayal and praises of mutual love between a lover and his beloved. This is a poetic love letter from God to us. In the Song the Lord is the lover and we (his people) are beloved. Imagine God saying to you: “Let me see you, let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet and you are lovely.” This how God loves us and feels about us.

Today reread this section from the Song of Songs 2:8-14 and read it as a love letter from your creator God to you.
