Daily Reflection: Thursday, August 11

Thursday, August 11

It is with great joy that we celebrate the Feast of St. Clare of Assisi today. What a faith filled woman for her time. Moved by the preaching and example of St. Francis and his early companions, she left her family in the middle of the night to join the way of life that she had observed and longed for. Later her sister and her mother joined her and the Poor Clares began. Today, there are Poor Clares throughout the world and locally in Chesterfield, NJ. Send a card to them to wish them a Happy Feastday: Monastery of St. Clare, 150 White Pine Road, Chesterfield, NJ 08515.
