Daily Reflection: Friday, August 12

Friday, August 12

After some interesting saints this week, today we have a Gospel about marriage and divorce. Underneath this Gospel are traditions and customs that were well known at Jesus’ time. We continue to support the reality of marriage and know that it takes a lot of work for it to work. However, there are many reasons that it fails and the church tries to be supportive of those who find themselves in a divorced situation. At this time when people are hurting and struggling, we need to surround them with open ears, an open mind and an open heart.
