Daily Reflection: Monday, August 15

The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

 Blessed are you who believed
that what was spoken to you by the Lord
would be fulfilled.
(Lk 1:45)

We celebrate the word spoken by the Lord.  We celebrate Mary’s belief.  We celebrate Mary herself.  It all comes together on this day: the promise, the faith, and the woman who said Yes to God.  Deep joy fills our hearts as we too hope that God’s promise will be fulfilled in us.
