Daily Reflection: Thursday, January 4

Memorial of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, Religious

Jesus: What are you looking for?

Seekers: Rabbi, where are you staying?

Jesus: Come, and you will see.            (cf. Jn 3:35-42)

John the Baptist pointed out Jesus to two of his disciples.  “Behold, the Lamb of God.”  So, they left to check it out.

Jesus question is for all of us.  Just what is it that we are looking for?  If there is really nothing, then we are too comfortable and spiritually asleep or dead.   Where does Jesus abide?  In all the old familiar places or someplace new?

John Frambes, ofm
