Daily Reflection: Tuesday, July 16

Tuesday, July 16

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel’s feast is today. The brown scapular is connected with

her and today is the feastday of the Carmelite Order of men and women. Our

Lady appeared to St. Simon Stock and told him that whoever wore the brown

scapular would be close to the Lord. We all wear religious medals and bracelets

and rings as our way of expressing our closeness to the Lord. They can have a

positive witness value. We often give them to others because the people are

important t us and the gift is a fitting gesture of our love for them.
