Daily Reflection: Friday, January 27

Friday, January 27

The foundress of the Ursuline Sisters, St. Angela Merici, is best known for her dedication to the education of women at a time when women were not considered important enough to receive an education. She gathered a group of women around her and they worked to offer a basic education to women of any class. Today’s Gospel speaks of comparing the kingdom of God to a mustard seed. It is the smallest of all seeds. What St. Angela did to education is like a seed which accomplished much grown in the lives of many women. “Lord, direct our actions that we may abound in good works.”

Fr. Andrew
