Daily Reflection: Tuesday, August 13

Part of today’s Gospel is a response to the question about a shepherd with a hundred sheep and one goes astray. Jesus says that he will leave the 99 and go in search of the stray. There is a great truth about Jesus contained here about His relationship to us and what He will do for us. Many are astray today and Jesus has found them but they haven’t recognized that Jesus is there waiting for them with an embrace. Perhaps a gesture such as this can be offered to someone who has gone astray. It’s worth a try.
