Daily Reflection: Wednesday, August 14

Today is the feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe, OFM Conv. When he was a prisoner at the concentration camp at Auschwitz, he volunteered to die in place of another prisoner. He is known for this generous act of heroism and has been proclaimed a martyr. We remember: “no greater love can a person have than to lay down one’s   life for another.” Our charitable acts and acts of kindness and concern each day reflect this.
