I am presuming that the Ascension will be celebrated on Sunday, so today we hear Jesus saying that “A little while and you will no longer see me” in the Gospel

Reading. I’m sure the apostles were confused and didn’t want to believe that Jesus was going to leave them. Jesus reassures them that “(their) grief will become joy.” He is not going to abandon them; his presence will always remain. This is true for us too.
