Daily Reflection: Saturday, May 20

Saturday, May 20

St. Bernardine of Siena is today’s saint. He was a Franciscan friar who had a great love for the name of Jesus through his preaching. He also began the monogram “IHS” which are the first three letters of Jesus from the Greek. We see this frequently and wonder what it means. He also encouraged a respectful use of this name. All of our names are sacred and we have to be careful about using the name of Jesus in an inappropriate way. “Lord Jesus, you are our life and our hope.”

Fr. Andrew
