Daily Reflection: Wednesday, March 22

Wednesday, March 22

“The Lord is gracious and merciful” is the response to today’s First Reading. Sit for a few moments (and get a cup of coffee) and read the first Reading from Isaiah. How positive and how caring are these words from Isaiah that reflect what God wants to do for the chosen people who are connected to God through the covenant that God made with them. The reading concludes with: “Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb.” Isaiah expresses the sentiments of the God who had created them even though they weren’t always faithful.
