In the first reading from Acts we hear how Peter and John cured a man who was crippled. This shows that even though Jesus is no longer with them, God can work miracles through his disciples. God today still works miracles through His children. Maybe pray for the graces to be able to see the everyday miracles around us.

I cannot ignore the gospel reading which is the road to Emmaus. This is my favorite gospel passage. We all are journeying on the road to our heavenly homeland. We are called to bring Jesus to our fellow pilgrims we meet on this journey. Sometimes we are the ones that bring Jesus to others, and at other times our fellow traveler brings Jesus to us. Today you might want to slowly read and pray with this gospel reading.
