Thursday, May 6

As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. ... I tell you this so that my joy may in you and your joy may be complete. (Jn 15:9,11)

Understandably, the Black theological traditions in America read the Scriptures as a message of liberation from slavery and oppression, but not only that. Always present in the Black churches is the exuberant joy of new life in Jesus. They remind us that without joy, the Christian message is incomplete.
