Daily Reflection: Saturday, July 1
Saturday July 1
“Lord I am not worthy…” Worthiness is not the issue when we approach God – no one of us is ever ‘worthy’ to receive God’s gifts. Whether it is the Eucharist, or simply answers to our prayers, we come before God knowing that God is beyond our knowledge or our understanding. Yet we have been given the gift of Jesus who teaches us to see God as loving Father/Mother who humbled Godself to be one with us in our humanity. We have been loved first by God without doing anything to earn it, and we can do nothing to lose that love. God is love and so is constantly loving within the Trinity and sharing that love with all of us. Let us rejoice in that love and respond to it by loving in return!
