Daily Reflection: Monday, October 23

Monday, October 23, 2023 – 29th Week in Ordinary Time

We read in our gospel reading Jesus says, “Thus will it be for the one who stores up treasure for himself but is not rich in what matters to God.” This is a warning about greed, the greed for material things that do not last. Somehow we bought into the myth that these material goods will make us complete. The question that came to me, when I was reading this gospel; what matters to God? What makes one rich in the eyes of God?
